After a 40-minute open mic, the national award-winning slam poetry team made up of Slangston Hughes, Lady Brion, Black Chakra, Grim Jackson, Mecca Verdell and Kenneth Something will perform a 40-minute set on the beauty and ugliness of being black-plus (woman, queer, man, youth, etc.) in America, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session.
